Smith’s Ballpark saw its final Salt Lake Bees game today, marking the end of an era for the beloved stadium. Located on the same ground as the old Derks Field, the stadium has been a hub for Utah baseball for over 75 years.

Terri Drashner has been coming to games at Smith’s Ballpark since the 1960s, when she was five years old. This college football season is still devoid of major upsets, but some teams have played tougher schedules than others. A Colorado ending so nice they stormed the field twice.

Ninety-eight years after baseball was first played on this corner, the Salt Lake Bees are playing their final game on that earth this Sunday. Babe Ruth visited there. Bill Murray’s Trappers set an all-time winning record there. The longest home run ever measured was hit there. It is the epicenter of Utah’s baseball history.
