Chennai police gunned down gangster and repeat offender Raja alias ‘Seizing’ Raja during the early hours of Monday in the outskirts of Tamil Nadu capital. He was arrested by the Chennai police on Sunday in connection with BSP leader Armstrong’s murder.

In a dramatic turn of events, a prime suspect in the murder of former Tamil Nadu BSP chief, K Armstrong, was shot dead by the Chennai police early this morning. The suspect, known as ‘Seizing’ Raja, had been apprehended in Andhra Pradesh just a day prior to the incident. His death marks the third police encounter in Chennai since July.

Chennai: 'Seizing' Raja, a proclaimed offender who was arrested from neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, was shot dead here on Monday after he attempted to flee from custody by opening fire on them, police said. When the accused was taken to a location on the outskirts of the city to recover hidden weapons, he tried to escape and shot at the police team.

A key suspect in the murder of former Tamil Nadu BSP chief K Armstrong in July was shot dead by the Chennai police early this morning, marking the third police encounter in the capital city of Tamil Nadu since July.

This is the second encounter that has been carried out in Chennai in a week and the third since the murder of the accused in BSP leader Armstrong's murder.
