Election Day is less than 50 days away, but early voting has already kicked off. Virginia, Minnesota and South Dakota were the first states to start early voting on Sept. 20. In Virginia, voters can line up at the polls.

The United States Presidential Election is weeks away, but early voting already underway in some states. While early voting in New York begins Saturday, Oct. 26, voters in several states, including Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Vermont and Virginia can cast their ballots through early voting sites that opened last week.

Virginia’s 45-day early voting period starts Friday, which is one of the longest in the country. Senator Aaron Rouse is chairman of the committee that oversees voting laws in Virginia, and he says Democrats will continue to reject Republican efforts to roll back early voting.

With less than six weeks before the general election, state officials are reminding Minnesota citizens of their rights to vote in the 2024 general election.

The country’s next president will need a friendly Congress to make their policy dreams a reality, but control of the two chambers remains deeply uncertain with just weeks until Election Day — and whether the outcome will be a party trifecta in the nation’s capital.
